The Tallow Light

Bill Showalter: Editor

The Tallow Light , the quarterly journal of the Washington County Historical Society, is dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich heritage of Washington County and the surrounding region. First published in 1968, the journal has grown from a modest newsletter into a professionally produced publication featuring articles on local history, genealogy, historic sites, and regional culture.

The Journal is part of every WCHS member's benefits and may be purchased by the public. The Tallow Light serves as an important resource for documenting community stories, encouraging historical scholarship, and connecting readers with the people, places, and events that shaped Washington County.
